About Nicole

Nicole McLaughlin is a successful Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in Washington, DC and is the Acupuncture Clinic Director of Nicole McLaughlin Acupuncture. In private practice, Nicole provides individualized care in a quiet office suite in Dupont Circle. She specializes in treating musculoskeletal, neurological, and reproductive conditions.

Her expertise in acupuncture, cupping, herbal medicine and essential oils allow her to treat acute and long term conditions, demonstrating how acupuncture works.

Treating Gynecological Disorders with Essential Oils and Herbs

In 2018 Nicole studied with Peter Holmes, L.Ac., Founder of Snow Lotus on how to treat gynecological disorders with essential oils. Types of conditions include, but are not limited to, fibroids, endometriosis, and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).

Advanced Yoga Teacher Training (300 HR)

In 2018 Nicole completed a three hundred hour advanced yoga teacher training program in Prana Vinyasa Flow with Jessica Lazar at Flow Yoga Center in the course of a year. Founder Shiva Rea taught one weekend module: Relaxation in Flow: Soma Prana Vinyasa for Inner Balance Immersion for Teachers and Practitioners. This program included monthly weekend modules, readings, volunteer service work, meditation and a final practicum.

Contemporary Chinese Pulse Diagnosis (CCPD) Post Graduate Studies

Stockbridge, MA - For two years Nicole studied with Lonny Jarrett, a national and international teacher of Chinese medical philosophy and pulse diagnosis. She further honed her skills as a practitioner by completing the rigorous two year post-graduate program, “The Clinical Integration of Chinese Medicine” on Five-Element philosophy and the Shen-Hammer Contemporary Chinese Pulse Diagnosis (CCPD).


Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine 

Columbia, MD - As a graduate of Maryland University of Integrative Health, formerly Tai Sophia Institute, she received two Master’s degrees in Acupuncture and in Oriental Medicine with an emphasis on Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs, Chinese Dietary Nutrition, and Five Element Qigong. This is a six year graduate program.

Bachelors and Masters of Science in Literacy and Language Education, Birth - Age 12

Fredonia, NY - In 2005 Nicole graduated from SUNY Fredonia Summa Cum Laude with Masters of Science in Reading after completing academic studies and clinical work related to fluency and reading comprehension.
